BayesiaLab

BayesiaLab provides an environment for machine learning, knowledge modeling, analytics, simulation, and optimization — based on the Bayesian network paradigm.  See http://www.bayesia.com/   Stat/Transfer provides support for writing BeyesiaLab files.

Standard extension:  csv (the tag beyes must be used in the command processor)

Writing Epi Info Files

For a dataset that has both value and and variable labels, four files will be produced.  The first of these is a delimited ASCII file with the data.  This has the extension .csv

The other files are as follows:

NodeComments.txt (A mapping of short variable names to variable labels)

ClassNames.txt (A mapping of short variable names value label names or "tags"

StatNames.txt (These are the actual value labels along with their tags)

These files will only be written if they are necessary.  For instance, if the input file does not have any value labels, the final two files will not be written.

These files can then be loaded into BayesiaLab and then saved as a native file.

Missing Data

Missing values will be written as a period.

Output Variable Types

The output variable type that results from each target variable type is given in the following table:

Target Type

Output Type

long

float

double

Number (with a precision of up to 15 decimal places)

string

Character

date
